Bollywood’s Marilyn Monroe, Kareena Kapoor

She lived all but 36. Her short but eventful life charted a course from rags to riches, from doing a menial job in a munitions factory to becoming a top model and eventually a Hollywood actress.

She had a turbulent personal life, consisting of three marriages and a string of romantic affairs, some of them with very influential people. Marilyn Monroe, who showed the world that she wasn’t a ‘dumb blonde’, lived many lives in thirty-plus years.

It’s a story of great appeal to filmmakers and the one biting the bait in Bollywood is none other than Madhur Bhandarkar whose unflagging penchant for realistic themes picked straight out of life has won him National Awards. Now, the filmmaker is said to be toying with the idea of making a film loosely inspired from the story of the late American actress Marilyn Monroe.

Madhur has been doing his research for some time and we hear that he’s now ready to make the film. He’s reportedly finalized Kareena Kapoor to play the part of a stunning actress who becomes a victim of her own success. The story will obviously be adapted to Indian context and will have as many as five men opposite Bebo.

Wouldn’t it be something to see Bebo stepping into Marilyn’s stilettos!
