It is Jeyam Raja who is the going to direct the 50th movie of Ilayathalapathi Vijay. This comes as a surprise since leading directors like Siddique (Friends) and Dharani (Ghilli, Kuruvi) were considered front runners for directing Vijay’s golden jubilee movie. Jayam Raja has given movies including Jeyam, M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi and Santhosh Subramaniyam and successfully proved his talents. Vijay’s 50th movie will be produced by Jeyam Raja’s home banner and is expected to release by 2010. It remains to be seen whether he will go for an original subject or for a remake, as the director is known as the ‘King’ of remakes as he understands how to add local flavour and nativity to the original subject.
Meanwhile Vijay will be starting with his next movie Vettaikaran soon.
