Aamir Khan is set to star opposite Kate Winslet

Mumbai - Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is set to star opposite Academy Awards winning Hollywood actress Kate Winslet in a new movie directed by Pan Nalin.

According to reports, Aamir, who is basking in the success of his super-hit movie Ghajini (where he plays the role of a man, with short term memory loss, seeking revenge) is all set to pair up with Hollywood actress Kate Winslet (of Titanic fame), who recently won the Academy Award for Best Actress in The Reader for portrayal of the role of a German woman who is later tried for war crime.

Director Pan Nalin (of Samsara and Valley of Flowers fame) is reportedly keen on making a film based on the short story "Toba Tek Singh" by Saadat Hasan Manto, which exposes the comic situation inside an Indian asylum with the 1947 partition between India and Pakistan as the backdrop.

Aamir Khan, who has gone through the script, has reportedly expressed keen interest in playing the lead role of a lunatic, Bishan Singh, though he is yet to sign on the dotted lines.

"I will be speaking to Kate Winslet for the role of Dr. Sophie (the female protagonist) in the movie after Cannes Film Festival ends. I want to finalize the casting," Nalin said.

According to sources close to the development, if Kate Winslet opts out, then Nalin wants Rachel Weisz to play opposite Aamir Khan.From:www.ibtimes.co.in
