Actress Bhuvaneshwari who was recently arrested by Chennai police in a prostitution racket has stirred up a storm yet again. A leading Tamil daily has allegedly published Bhuvaneshwari’s ‘confession’ of the list of other actresses who are involved in the flesh trade.

As a protest against this, leading stars from Kollywood visited the office of Chennai Police commissioner and demanded action against the daily for carrying out flase news. The newspaper has now carried a regret note for the report.

Police Commissioner, T Rajendran, told the actors delegation, led by South Indian Artiste Association president Sarath Kumar, that Bhuvaneswari, who is in jail, had not made any such statement. According to sources, South India Artists Association has decided to file complaint against the newspaper in the Press Council of India and also defamatory case against the daily paper that had listed the name of actresses.

Bhuvaneswari was arrested on Friday night (October 4) by the Chennai police on allegations of prostitution. It is said that Bhuvaneshwari has been allegedly running this racket from her apartment at Adayar in Chennai where she was arrested.
