Malaysia Vasudevan dies at 67

Veteran singer Malaysia Vasudevan passed away yesterday afternoon at a private hospital in Chennai. He breathed his last when he was 67. He was admitted last week due to cardiac problems. The singer is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Malaysia Vasudevan crooned over 8,000 songs in Tamil and sung close to 4,000 songs in different languages. He worked with many top music directors like MS Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraja, Shankar-Ganesh, AR Rahman etc. He lent his voice for most of the actors in Tamil film industry.

He started his singing career with Delhi to Madras. But it was 'Attukutti Muttaittu' from Kamal Hassan starrer 16 Vayithinile, which brought him under limelight. He forayed into acting with Oru Kaithiyin Diary and went on to act in 85 films in Kollywood.

Actor Kamal Hassan, Ilaiyaraja, Rajinikanth and many noted names from the Tamil film industry have paid tribute to Malaysia Vasudevan. A few celebrities expressed their grief on Twitter.

Director Venkat Prabhu tweeted, “Our uncle singer Malaysia Vasudevan passed away!!! RIP vasu uncle!!! Love u .”

Actor Siddharth tweeted, “RIP Malaysia Vasudevan. So many great songs. A legacy lives on... ”.

Everyone knows that Super Star Rajinikanth is doing an animated film “HARA” is currently busy on sets. Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin is directing and producing this film. Now the latest news is that Trisha is going to play female lead role opposite Rajini in this film.

In this film, Rajinikanth will be seen in dual role. One is an animated role and the other as normal Rajinikanth. The animated part of the shooting has been completed where Vijaya Lakshmi is playing opposite to animated Rajini role and Trisha is playing opposite to Rajini in this film. The other commercial part of the film will be directed by K S Ravi Kumar. Music is scoring by A R Rahman. Creative director Shanker is busy making his dream project “Endhiran” these days on a budget of Rs 190 cr. This mega project will hit screens in November and will not release in September as earlier reported.

According to reliable sources, director Shanker is in contact with Bollywood’s living legend Amitabh Bachchan these days. There is news that the director wants the actor’s voice as a reciprocal to the robot character in ENDHIRAN. Last month, Shanker visited Bachchan residence in order to discuss the issue with the senior Bachchan.

Director Shanker wants to leave no stone unturned and feels that Amitabh’s voice will be apt to the robot character in his film. Already, this movie has Aishwarya Bachchan in the female lead and if Amitabh’s voice gets added, then the two stars will go into records for sharing space in a high budget movie of Indian cinema. Super Star Rajini Kanth’s new film ‘Endhiran – The Boss’ to hit screens on September 3, there’s another special occasion to look out for. Yes, Rajnikanth’s youngest daughter Soundarya will enter wedlock with her fiancé Ashwin on the same day. The marriage will take place at Rani Meiyyamai Raja Muthaiah Hall in Egmore that will be attended by the most top-charting celebrities, big shots and politicians across Indian and foreign countries.

Rajnikanth and his family members are busy preparing the celebrities’ list. For sure, this is gonna be the most lavish occasion of this year as Hollywood’s Richard Gere is expected to attend the function. Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Cheeranjivi and almost each and every celebrity of film industry will take part while Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be present along with her son Rahul Gandhi.

Regrettably, she never opted to sign their projects until Vikram approached her for his upcoming film ‘VEDI’.

Having completed his quickie titled ‘Kadhal Solla Vandhen’, director Boopathy Pandian delayed to take off with the shooting of ‘Vedi’ and now Ileana seems to have got some problems with her scheduling dates. ’Super Star’ Rajinikanth became grandfather again. His daughter Aishwarya Dhanush gave birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in Chennai yesterday (June 21) at 6.21 in the morning.

"I never thought fatherhood the second time would be so special”, Dhanush’s voice brimmed over with paternal pride.

“Right now we haven’t thought of any particular name. We’re just so happy to see him healthy and happy. Both mom and the baby are fine. Aishwarya will be home in a day or two.”

This is the couple’s second son. Their first son, Yatra is three years old and has started going to kindergarten. Dhanush who was shooting in Chennai was by Aishwarya’s side during the delivery. (CHIT)

Kollywood’s mega budget film “Endhiran” which features super stars Rajnikanth in the lead is all set to have its audio release in Dubai. The audio release is said to be held in august 2010 and the film will be releasing in September second week.

As earlier said by Rajnikanth, “Endhiran’s” the movie was supposed to hit screens in August 2010. But now, there is latest news from directors Shanker’s crew that the movie release may get delayed by a fortnight or more. The special affects composing and mixing is said to take more 50 days time and so the wait will be extended long.

A. R. Rahman has composed the music of this film and bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who was paid Rs 6 cr for this project, is said to be a highlight of this film. (HC)

And now, the latest news is that she is fed up with politics and ready to quit them and back to movies soon. Already she has acted in a recent Telugu film ‘Golimaar’ and also acting as Vijay’s mother in a Tamil film titled ‘Kaavalkaran’.

The actress says “I faced a lot of problems in politics, and as I was always wandering between the Collectors Office and Police Station for the welfare of people I couldn’t look after my health properly. Though I do this much things to people, people prefer only those who do not do anything for them. Politics is male dominated and it is difficult for women to withstand. I have started to hate politics”.

She further adds “People interested in public welfare enter politics, but nothing can be done without political power. So I have decided to return back to cinema. I will continue to act in films in any roles that come my way. I am very happy to act as Vijay’s mother. Many new face actress are entering the cinema field, it’s a encouraging sign. Endhiran which is a dream project of south Indian film director Shanker has a bad news for its fans. The movie releases is furthermore delayed and is postponed to October-November 2010.

Well, the delay in the project is bit disappointing news for all those who are eager to have a glimpse of it. But the good news is that the delay is worthy for the time as the reason is said to be addition of 3D affects.

After seeing the movie “Avatar”, Shanker desired to have his part of “Endhiran” follow the present 3D fashion. So, the entire production team of “Endhiran” is working on the dream and desire of Shanker and will re-work on 250 special affect mixing from now on.

The computer graphics- CG are almost complete and a portion of the film, which is the climax, has to be induced with some CG work. After canning a song, which is still in the recording stages, the entire film shoot will be winded off and then the post production work will resume in a couple of months again.

So, for this reason, the movie is said to take more 4 months time and is expected to be a grand Dasara 2010 release. AR Rahman has composed the music for this film, which features Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead. (HC)

Cut throat competition is waging in kollywood for the remake rights of the films. Mostly the competition is going on for the remake rights of superstars MGR and Rajinikanth.

Sundar C is currently busy with the remaking of Rajinikanth’s super hit film ‘Murattukalai’. And now, there arises a heavy competition between Sundar C and Silambarasan for the remake rights of ever green yesteryear film ‘Ulagam Sutrum Valiban’, directed and produced by MGR.

Sundar, who had already made publicized his interest in doing the remake MGR’s of super hit film. He also said that he will start the film after finishing his movie ‘Thee’. But, as the discussions with the owners of the film has been lengthened, he could not do it at the before said time.

And now, the latest buzz is that Silamabarasan is ready to get the remake rights of the film by paying of Rs. 60 lakhs to its owners. But the owners party has passed on Simbhu’s offer to Sundar, and showed its interest to give the offer to Sundar as he was the first one to apply for it but provided if he pay as much as Silambarasan only.

Sources say that Yuvarani has involved sexually with Nityananda and this video has been uploaded into one porn site. The link can’t be provided here for obvious reasons but then despite many pressures and requests, the site is not willing to remove the full nude video as the hits were unusually high.

Superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya will enter marital bliss in the first week of September this year, a close source says. Soundarya will marry Ashwin, son of Chennai based big industrialist Ramkumar, who runs a construction company. The young couple was engaged on February 17 in a grand function.

The wedding will be held on September 2 and 3 at the Raja Muthiah Hall, Egmore, Chennai. Before marriage, she is trying to release her first directorial venture Endhiran, with her superstar father in June second week. (OI)

Remember, Dalapathy was the title of the Rajinikanth- Mammootty blockbuster released in the year 1991, as Diwali special. The Rajini movie produced by G.V.Films was a cult classic directed by Mani Ratnam and is still remembered as one of the best ever movie produced in Tamil.

Sources say that the similarity ends with the title. While Mani's film dealt with the friendship between two gangsters, the new movie will be a family entertainer with lots of action. Director Shankar is busy calling the shots for Endhiran and the team has been spotted in several locations in Chennai and its suburbs. The latest is that the Endhiran unit was spotted at the Kathipara flyover in Chennai.

Several supporting actors were spotted wearing police uniforms, and there was a strong indication that it was fight or chase sequence. Rajinikanth arrived at the spot at 8 am and the shooting progressed till 12 noon. The traffic at the Kathipara flyover came to a standstill for a couple of hours owing to the shooting.

Endhiran also stars Aishwarya Rai, Danny Denzongpa, Karunas and Santhanam. The film is produced by Sun Pictures.
