It so happened that, this producer is remaking Telugu "Vedam" movie in Tamil with hero Shimbu playing the role Allu Arjun played in Telugu. Anushka, who is playing her role in Tamil also, told the media that she reduced her remuneration for this movie because of Shimbu and this has infuriated the producer. The news about Silambarasan playing the role of Sharman Joshi in both Tamil and Telugu remakes of 3 Idiots happened to be the sensational headlines for past couple of days.

But now, it’s literally disappointing to hear Simbu saying that he hasn’t decided about signing this project. Recently, the actor was present for an interactive session with students of journalism and threw some lights on present trend of films and changing mindsets of audiences.

When asked about his decision over signing 3 Idiots remake, the young actor replied that he would love working with actor Vijay, but fans of Ajith Kumar may have some resentments. Very often, Silambarasan used to quote Ajith Kumar as his inspiring role model and the duo shares a great friendship.

Since, there happens to be a sort of clashes between the fans of Vijay and Ajith Kumar in Tamil Nadu, Silambarasan has seemingly made a smart move by staying out of trouble.

Now with both Maddy and Simbu refusing the offers, Shankar must be wriggling his head over signing some efficient actors, who’ll be more apt than these ones for the lead roles. (OI)

Having been a successful model in Mumbai, actress Sana Khan made her way into Kollywood with Silambarasan starrer ‘Silambattam’. The actress later paired with Bharath in ‘Thambikku Indha Ooru’ that was a terrible flop. Now she has signed many projects - films Aayiram Vilakku, Santhu Pottu and Payanam. The actress is reported to have lots of challenging characterizations in this movie.

But the latest buzz is that she has entered into a conflict with newcomer Aamna Sheriff, whom she has replaced her in a Kannada movie. According to the sources, the actress was supposed to paired opposite Golden Star Ganesh in a film directed by Mahesh. Aamna made her complaint that Sana Khan had met Ganesh’s wife during a private party and convinced her to eliminate her from the project. When approached Mahesh, he said, “Aamna was selected by Ganesh while my part was to cast an actress, who looks apt for the role of a college student and felt Sana Khan was suitable for it…” (KT)

Surya Siva Kumar is extremely busy with a Murgadoss project and an RGV project these days. He will be participating in a movie shoot, which will be directed by KV Anand in a few days time. Already, AYAN which was released in 2009 was a super hit, as the movie was directed by KV Anand and featured Surya in lead.

Now, the hit pair is all set to get together for another movie which is yet to be titled. KV Anand was interested in casting Surya in “Ko” which now has simbhu in lead. But for some reason, Surya was busy and so has now allotted his dates to this project, which will go on floors from September 1st, 2010.

Now, coming to the main news, there is news that KV Anand has roped in actress Sneha into the project. But the sources close to him say that there is a dilemma in the female lead, as KV has disclosed the name of Sneha to his associates, who claim that it is Sneha Ullal and not the smiling beauty Sneha.

Tollywood beauty Kajal agarwal made her mark in Kollywood with the movie “Pazhani”. The movie gained her some fame in Tamil films and then on she was seen in SAROJA, Bommalattam, Modhi Vilayadu, and the latest Nan Mahaan Alla, which will hit screens in August, 2010.

According to the latest reports, Kajal agarwal has signed a big project of Cloud Nine Movies. The banner is producing a movie with director Linguswamy taking the duty of carving the movie. Earlier, Silambarasan was said to play the lead, but now the male lead role is yet to be confirmed. On Friday evening, in a press conference, Linguswamy revealed that Kajal agarwal has been confirmed for the movie.

But he was silent on the male star cast issue. It is reported that Simbhu and Linguswamy will settle down amicably on the controversy and misunderstandings and will rejoin this project with new zeal. If things do not work out, then the producers of cloud nine are aiming for Tamil actor Karthi or Srikanth, to play the lead. (HC)

This entire week has been a crucial phase for Silambarasan as he was busy holding discussions with producer R.B. Choudary over remaking the Telugu blockbuster Vedam. Finally, Silambarasan has revealed the film’s title as Vaanam (meaning ‘Sky’ in English) and the shooting started from July 10.

The official confirmations about other star casts and technicians will be revealed shortly. According to the sources, Anushka seems to have refused this offer as she feels that she may not be able to do justice to the character if she has to redo it. It seems the producers are holding talks with Aadukalam fame Tapasee for performing the female lead role while Manoj of Ennai Theriyuma will perform another lead role.

The original version featured Allu Arjun in the lead role of a cable operator while Anushka as a sex-worker and Manchu Mohan as a rock star. The film is about five different characters and how their lives are intercrossed on an unexpected day. (OI)

It looks like South India’s hottie Ileana is finding right time with the Kollywood. Her first film in Tamil ‘KD’ turned to be a terrific flop and she never turned this side. Off the late, there has been a long queue of actors requesting her to pair up with them including superstar Rajnikanth, Vijay and Silambarasan. Regrettably, she never opted to sign their projects until Vikram approached her for his upcoming film ‘VEDI’.

Having completed his quickie titled ‘Kadhal Solla Vandhen’, director Boopathy Pandian delayed to take off with the shooting of ‘Vedi’ and now Ileana seems to have got some problems with her scheduling dates. If nothing works out well between Vikram-Boopathy Pandian and Ileana, they’ll start looking out for Anushka and Thamannah. (KT)

South Indian actress Trisha has recently made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar, starring in the movie Khatta Meetha, which is yet to be released. But the Tamil actress has already signed her second film, if the reports are to be believed.

There is a buzz that Trisha will star opposite Prateek Babbar, son of Smita Patil and Raj Babbar. The film is a remake of Trisha’s superhit Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (VTV) by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The Tamil actress will again play the role of Jessie in the Hindi remake.

According to the sources closed to the development, Trisha has already signed for the movie and the shooting of the film will start in August. But Trisha preferred not to comment on this project. Gautham Menon, the director of the Tamil version, will be directing the Hindi version also.

Prateek made his debut in a supporting role in the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Prateek will be playing the lead hero in the film, which was played by Silambarasan in the Tamil version.

Ambica Hinduja is reportedly producing the movie, which will go on the floor in the middle of August in Malta, where the original movie was shot.

Now, Trisha is busy with the shooting of her Tamil film Manmadhan Ambu starring Kamal Hassan. They are shooting in a Titanic-like ship on a Mediterranean cruise with three decks.

In the meantime, she has been requested to come to Mumbai for the promotion of her Hindi film Khatta Meeta. Her manager informed, “Trisha has already requested her Manmadhan Ambu director K S Ravikumar to give her time off from the European schedule. She will be back in Mumbai, five days before the release of the film.” (OI)

After the big success of ‘VTV’, Silambarasan has given commitment to two movies simultaneously. One is a bilingual which is to be done in both Tamil and Telugu under Lingusamy’s direction. The other one is he pairs with Sarth Kumar’s daughter Varalaxmi.

A few days back it was reported that Tamannaah is under consideration to play a lead opposite Simbhu in Lingusamy’s film and now it is said that she is confirmed for the movie and was asked to give 25 days successive call sheet for the film.

Sources say that she plays a law college student and she was asked to shed some weight to fit for the role in this film. The close sources say that it is for the first time Tamamnnaah pairing with Simbhu and definitely the pair will be hit just like Simbu-Trisha jodi in ‘VTV’.

Sources further say that the director Lingusamy has tried Madhavan to play Tamannaah’s brother in the film but he didn’t get final confirmation from the actor. In the mean time, Lingusamy is also considering Ajmal if Maddy says no for it. [WaY]

Tamil young hero silambarasan is all set to entertain his fans in a bilingual project, which is going to be directed by director linguswamy. The movie will feature Simbhu in the lead role and actor Madhavan will play the role of his brother. There is news that director Linguswamy is intending to sign Shruthi Hassan for this project. The movie will go onto floors in July and will be directed by Dayanidhi Alagiri.

It is a fact this movie will also be made in Telugu as well with Telugu actor Mahesh Babu in the lead. The Telugu version will be produced by Tirupathi Prasad of Mega Super good films.

There is news that Linguswamy is in a hunt for the female lead in the film.

The good looking actress Meera Jasmine for the first time in her kollywood career has acted in an intense lip-lock kissing scenes in a new Tamil film titled ‘Aadhinarayana’ which is under production.

She has given cozy lip-lock kiss to new hero Gajan in the film as said by the director of the film J Vettri Vendhan. The director has appreciated Meera for her professional acting in the scenes.

He said “We approached Meera Jasmine with hesitation to act in a lip-lock scene in this movie, Aadhinarayana. At first she was apprehensive about it and asked if the scene was really necessary. When I explained to her that the kissing scene was inevitable and that the scene would be shot aesthetically, she agreed and finished the scene quickly.”

Speaking about the film, the director said “movies that are close to reality are clicking in a big way as far as Tamil industry is concerned. ‘Aadhinarayana’ is one such movie that would appeal to the masses.”

He further adds “Srikanth Deva too was inspired by the script and has come up with five songs including one which actor Silambarasan has lent his voice too. I am sure his music would top the charts.”

Sharing his first experience with Meera Jasmine on the screen, new comer Gajan said “Meera was very co-operative. She made me comfortable in front of the camera and encouraged me to give my best”. [WaY]

Varalakshmi Sarath kumar, daughter of the veteran actor Sarath kumar, is gearing up for his debut Tamil film titled Poda Podi. The movie is directed by Vignesh Shiva, the film will be produced by Gemini and Padam Kumar. The Tamil actor Silambarasan is starring opposite Varalakshmi.

According to a sources, the shooting will take place in London and few places in and around Europe. The songs of the film will be shot in Vegas and Arizona. The film will be a romantic comedy, which will present Varalakshmi as a salsa dancer, a well versed dancer in real life. She is also a trained ballet dancer. The budding actress feels that Poda Podi is a perfect film for her debut.

Cut throat competition is waging in kollywood for the remake rights of the films. Mostly the competition is going on for the remake rights of superstars MGR and Rajinikanth.

Sundar C is currently busy with the remaking of Rajinikanth’s super hit film ‘Murattukalai’. And now, there arises a heavy competition between Sundar C and Silambarasan for the remake rights of ever green yesteryear film ‘Ulagam Sutrum Valiban’, directed and produced by MGR.

Sundar, who had already made publicized his interest in doing the remake MGR’s of super hit film. He also said that he will start the film after finishing his movie ‘Thee’. But, as the discussions with the owners of the film has been lengthened, he could not do it at the before said time.

And now, the latest buzz is that Silamabarasan is ready to get the remake rights of the film by paying of Rs. 60 lakhs to its owners. But the owners party has passed on Simbhu’s offer to Sundar, and showed its interest to give the offer to Sundar as he was the first one to apply for it but provided if he pay as much as Silambarasan only.

Trisha is related with the success of 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' (Tamil Version Of Ye Maya Chesave) but also has declared that she won't do one thing she did for 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' ever again. Not the lip lock scenes she was referring to, but something else.

Trisha plays the role of Jessie in 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' whose age is supposed to be a year more than Karthik character played by Silambarasan (Simbu) in the film. How come Trisha agreed to play older to Silambarasan?

She says initially she refused to do the role and even argued and fought with the director for that. But finally Gautham managed to convince her telling the story needs it. Now after seeing the film and the wonderful reception her character gets Trisha is more than happy to have done that role. But will she do it again? Never the beauty asserts. Jessie is different. Trisha has hiked her salary to Rs 1 Crore. The Telugu film Namo Narayana which had Venkatesh and Trisha in the cast has been a great hit.Trisha had received a salary of Rs 67 Lakhs for acting in this film. Namo Venkatesa is doing well in the theatres and crowds are thronging to the theatres to watch this film. So Trisha all of a sudden has hiked her pay.

Trisha was approached to do the female lead role in the Telugu film Don Seenu. But she demanded Rs 1 Crore as her salary. She has not got this salary even for the Hindi film Katta Meeta in which is doing the female lead role. Even she took less than Rs 1 Crore for the Tamil film Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya in which is pairing with Simbhu. But if Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya becomes a hit, then she will hike her salary here also. Sana Khan made her debut as a heroine in the film Silambattam which had Simbhu in the lead, now she is acting in Bharath starrer Thambikku Indha Ooru, Sibi Raj starrer Santhu Pottu and Santhanoo starrer ‘Aayiram Vilakku’. Sana Khan while speaking to the media said,” After Silambattam I became very busy in Tamil films. I am very happy about this. The three films Thambikku Indha Ooru, Santhu Pottu and Aayiram Vilakku are being made with the backdrop of the village. Silambattam was also like these films. Many are asking me about me doing stereo typed roles. Definitely it is not. Though I wore half saree in Silambattam the role was a glamour one. In song sequences I acted with glamour dresses”.

Adding more on her roles, she says, “I am donning the role of an athlete in the film Thambikku Indha Ooru. So there is no village girl role in this film. In ‘Aayiram Vilakku’ I am doing the role of a Madurai girl. But I will not wear half saree. I will be wearing churidhar suits. In Santhu Pottu my role has prominence; I have donned the role of a pragmatic village girl. I got some Telugu films. Like how I acted with Simbhu, I also want to act with top young Telugu actors. I will wait until I get the chance. Presently I will be acting in Tamil films only.”
