Tamil beauty Reema Sen, who is now spelt as Reemma Sen, will be marrying her boyfriend Shiv Karan Singh in this year. Although the news about the wedding is not yet finalized, the engagement ceremony took place, with only friends as witnesses.

According to sources, Reemma Sen was proposed by Shiv Karan Singh, on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00pm in the night. The actress could not believe it, but she liked the traditional way of proposing of Shiv and she said yes to his love proposal. According to sources, Shiv Karan Singh gifted a big diamond ring to Reema Sen aka Reemma Sen on the occasion and both the side elders are convinced, about their relationship.

Shiv Karan Singh is an owner of a chain of restaurants in Mumbai and Mocha and Smoke house grill Delhi are one of the upper market hang outs located at SLF Emporia Mall and at Greater kailash.

There are reports that the bash was organized by Shiv and it was a complete surprise to Reema, who came in a black dress. The party was attended by top socialites and as well as 3 very big business tycoons and all congratulated the couple, for getting bonded.

Bhavana while speaking said,” If I don’t have offers, there is immediate rumors that I am getting married. But I am bearing all these rumors. In Tamil after Asal I did not act in any films. There is no complaint about Kollywood regarding this. At the same time I will also have my days in Tamil cinema. I am getting lots of offers in Kannada cinema. Since I did not know Kannada, I turned down the offers. Finally I agreed to act in the Kannada film Jockey which had Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead role.

I agreed because this film had a big actor and good story. Since I did not know anything about the Kannada audience, I had a doubt whether this film will be a success. But this film was a super hit. In the year 2010 I had acted in three Malayalam films.I gave my dates for Sudeep’s Kannada film but this film was postponed because Sudeep’s own film was not completed. Since I gave my call sheet to Priyadarshan, I was unable to act in Sudeep’s film. I liked the college campus story narrated by Priyadarshan. The shooting of the whole film is to take place in Dubai.”(KT).

Veteran singer Malaysia Vasudevan passed away yesterday afternoon at a private hospital in Chennai. He breathed his last when he was 67. He was admitted last week due to cardiac problems. The singer is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Malaysia Vasudevan crooned over 8,000 songs in Tamil and sung close to 4,000 songs in different languages. He worked with many top music directors like MS Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraja, Shankar-Ganesh, AR Rahman etc. He lent his voice for most of the actors in Tamil film industry.

He started his singing career with Delhi to Madras. But it was 'Attukutti Muttaittu' from Kamal Hassan starrer 16 Vayithinile, which brought him under limelight. He forayed into acting with Oru Kaithiyin Diary and went on to act in 85 films in Kollywood.

Actor Kamal Hassan, Ilaiyaraja, Rajinikanth and many noted names from the Tamil film industry have paid tribute to Malaysia Vasudevan. A few celebrities expressed their grief on Twitter.

Director Venkat Prabhu tweeted, “Our uncle singer Malaysia Vasudevan passed away!!! RIP vasu uncle!!! Love u .”

Actor Siddharth tweeted, “RIP Malaysia Vasudevan. So many great songs. A legacy lives on... ”.

She while speaking about this said,” I did the kissing scene in Angadi Theru because the story demanded it. Even in the film Magillchi that kissing sequence was required and because of this I had acted in it. Because of this many are asking me that whether there is a kissing scene in my next film and that why I am continuously acting in kissing scenes.

I had acted like this in the two films, because the story demanded it. That does not mean that I will continue to kiss in all my films. I am donning homely roles in the films in which I am currently acting now. All the roles have the scope for acting. I am very thankful to Vasanthabalan for this.

The reason for all these things is because Vasanthabalan gave me a powerful role in Angadi Theru. I have so far acted in five films including one Malayalam film. Actress Vishnupriya, who is debuting as heroine in a film titled Oodhari, fainted during the shooting, sending panic waves among the crew. This resulted in cancellation of the shoot for a few hours.

Balaji Prabhu, son of noted director-producer M. Baskar, turns producer with ‘Oodhari’, directed by Sakthi Krishna. Vinod and Vishnupriya are the debuting lead pair in the film. Though new to Kollywood, Vishnupriya has already starred in as many as four Malayalm films. Also had been making news with her interviews criticizing Asin and Nayantara, senior actresses from Kerala for their expose acts on screens.

Last week, while the shooting was in progress, Vishnupriya fainted all of a sudden. She was then to the caravan and a doctor was immediately called to Spot, who after attending to her, said it was just an ‘ordinary faint’ due to tireless work, weakness and not eating proper food at the right time.

After resting for a couple of hours, Vishnupriya was back in action and started her shoot for ‘Oodhari’.

Nine Months after the alleged sex scandal involving her with self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda broke out, actress Ranjitha made her first public appearance on December 30, 2010 (Friday) and denied she was the woman in the much-hyped video, contrary to Nithyananda’s admission to Karnataka CID interrogators in April 2010 that during her stay at his Bidadi ashram for more than a year, he ‘had sex with her many times’.

Claiming that she had been made a scapegoat because she was a celebrity, the actress said she had started visiting the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam on the outskirts of Bangalore a little over a year ago after she was impressed by the yoga, meditation and other spiritual activities taking place in the ashram.

However, the very next day, the actress attended the 34th birthday of Nithyananda on January 1st, 2011 Saturday. She also took part in Anandotsava programme, held as part of the birthday celebrations, and showed Karpoora Aarathi to Nithyananda who was dressed up like God Perumal.

Recently Ranjitha is said to have moved into a new apartment in Chennai, T.Nagar. Though she could manage to hide herself inside the room during the day time in the beginning, few residents located her indeed. Following that the neighbours of Ranjitha’s new rental residence have strongly opposed her for staying there and compelling her to vacate the house immediately.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a resident said, “Yes. We have requested Ranjitha to Vocate the house immediately as the residents of the apartment are reputed family women and her stay may create unwanted problems”.(KT)

Tamil actress Sandhya of ‘Kaadhal’ fame is acting in the Malayalam film ‘Three kings’ which has Indrajith in the lead. The actress sustained injuries and burns on legs, while shooting for an action scene of the film.

The filming was taking place at the Athirapally waterfalls near Chalakudy when sandhya who was a pillion on Indrajith’s bike, fell down, due to misbalancing. The bike fell on her and her legs got burnt due to the silencer’s heat.

Sandhya was rushed to the hospital and was treated the injuries and superficial burns.

Tamil comedy actress Shobana committed suicide at her residence in Kotturpuram, Chennai on Monday. The unmarried actress Shobana acted in lot of Tamil movies and Television serials in comedy roles. Particularly she is the main actress for Sun TV very famous “Meendum Meendum Sirippu” – Sunday morning comedy Tele serial.

Shobana acted as Vadivelu wife in Surya and Jothika paired Sillunnu Oru Kaadhal. Shobana was survived with her mother Rani in Chennai Kotturpuram Housing Board Colony. Shobana belongs to normal middle class family and her mother Rani is ex-extra actress in Tamil Cinema.

Shobana was alone at her apartment in H’ Block in Kotturpuram Housing Board Colony on Monday when she committed suicide.

The police said 31-year-old Shobhana committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling.

The explanation for the suicide isn’t known and investigations are on. The police said Shobana was suffering from Chikungunya. Due to the ailment, she lost a few chances to act in Tamil movies. This may be the reason for her suicide, they said.
